What a housewarming! At Home With Sara Phemister

A big crowd of people packed into Tyger Gallery in Yass.

Some 80 people joined artist Sara Phemister for the opening celebration of At Home With.

What a beautiful afternoon celebrating the opening of At Home With Sara Phemister!

On Saturday 27 July around 80 people packed the gallery to see this stunning show by gallery favourite Sara Phemister.

Tyger Gallery Manager Sally Rasmussen opened the official proceedings welcoming visitors, before Head Tyger Martyn Pearce gave an opening address.

Martyn talked about the integral role Sara played in setting up Tyger, and how many of the decisions about how the gallery would work and what it believed in were taken around the dining room table now installed in the back room for the show.

Sara then talked about her process of making this amazing body of work, revealed some of the stories behind the objects on display in the gallery which are also in the paintings, and offered deep appreciation for everyone who had turned up to celebrate the show.

We were thrilled to see such a huge crowd of art lovers join us for a brilliant party in YassVegas. A massive thanks to everyone who came along, took in this brilliant show and talked with Sara about her work.

Big love and thanks to the Tyger team for the day - Sal Rasmussen, Al Phemister, Josie Burn, Bravo Domino, and - of course - Sara herself.

Didn’t manage to get along to the opening? We’re open Thursday to Sunday every week, and At Home With Sara Phemister is on at the gallery until 11 August.
