Artist Sophie Perez sat on a wooden staircase.

Sophie Perez

Sophie Perez is a British-born artist who graduated from the Royal College of Art in London in 2003 with an MA in painting.

In 2005 Sophie relocated to Melbourne, Australia and now resides on the Mornington Peninsula with her family: drawing inspiration from the surroundings and everyday life.

Having a strong connection with the land has always been what drives and informs Sophie’s practise.

Sophie says her love of paint, the physicality and endless possibilities of this medium give her a new language to describe the landscapes she emerges herself in.

Absorbing the atmosphere of her surroundings , Sophie’s landscapes have a narrative, history and memories that she describes through mark making.
