‘I’d describe my work as expressive and impressionistic, with a small amount of chaos.’ Katherine Palella

Katherine Palella will be one of the amazing artists in Tyger’s upcoming group show, Living in Another World.

Tyger is delighted to welcome Magandjin / Brisbane-based Katherine Palella for our upcoming abstract landscapes show, Living in Another World.

Katherine is a superb abstract artist and also co-curator of Living in Another World. We’re thrilled to have her art and her expertise at Tyger.

The show brings together around 40 artists from all over the country to show us the world we know and love through an abstracted lens.

Living in Another World runs from 19-28 April. The online catalogue for the show will go out to subscribers soon. Sign up here now to make sure you don’t miss out on your favourite works.

Katherine’s work in the show is the gorgeous Windy Day, a 35x45cm acrylic on board painting.

Ahead of the show opening, Katherine told us about where and how she creates her work, and how she hopes people feel when they see it.

How would you describe your work?

“Expressive and impressionistic with a small amount of chaos.”

Tell us about where and how you create your work?

“Always near a window or ideally in a big space. Sometimes I work sporadically, other times in a flurry.”

What inspires you?

“Mostly colour and how it interacts and changes in the light. I'm interested in the plasticity of paint as a medium.”

What do you hope people feel when they see your work?

“Movement and maybe a place to rest for a while.”

Register now for our opening celebrations of Living in Another World - Saturday 20 April, 2-4pm.
