Artist Woman of the South, Natalie Childs at the gallery talk on Saturday 21 September, 2024.

What a stellar afternoon! A constellation of absolute stars joined us at Tyger on Saturday 21 September to hear from the amazing Woman of the South, Natalie Childs.

It was such a pleasure and privilege to hear about her inspiration and techniques, as well as the stories behind the superb works in her show at Tyger, The Night Sky.

Natalie talked about how all the works were inspired by Yuin and Ngunnawal Country, how she paints imagined places, and the threat to dark night skies posed by satellites and space junk.

A huge thanks to Natalie for an illuminating talk, for giving her time so generously, and for creating a truly beautiful show.

And a massive thanks to all the art lovers who joined us at the gallery to meet the artist, see the show, and find out more about the works. We’re thrilled that many of you will be going home with one of these works when the show finishes on 29 September.

Haven’t gazed into The Night Sky yet? We’re open 11-2 Thursday and Friday, 10-3 Saturday, and 11-3 Sunday. Don’t miss it!

See the show online here. Want to make sure you’re always on the invite list for events at Tyger? Join the mailing list here.
