Bec creates gorgeous bright, bold and playful art, deeply inspired by nature and colour. Her lovely work - predominantly in acrylics - includes still life pieces featuring cocktails, fruit, flowers and birds, to more expressive free flowing abstract pieces filled with lively florals and layered with colour.

Her work in Life in Colour is the beautiful Lavender Dreams - we absolutely LOVE it!

Ahead of the show opening, Bec told us about being inspired by nature and wildlife, trips to the florist, and how she hopes people feel when they see her beautiful work.

Where do you create your work?

"I create my pieces in my home studio, often in the evening to unwind once the kids have gone to bed."

How do you create your work?

"I take a relaxed approached to my abstract floral pieces, I choose a colour palette and then the creativity flows from there. My still life pieces involve more planning, sketches and trips to the florist."

Tell us about Lavender Dreams, your work in Life in Colour

"Lavender dreams is inspired by evening strolls along the local bush track as the sun sets and the last pink/blue light touches the bushland foliage. The neighbourhood black cockatoos roosting in the surrounding gum trees."

What inspires you?

"Nature, wildlife - primarily birds and colour."

What do you hope people feel when they see your work?

"When people look at my pieces, I hope it triggers a subconscious smile as sparks of happiness spreads throughout them."

Register for the opening celebration of Life in Colour on Saturday 16 November here.
