As an artist, Matt believes that creativity knows no boundaries. His journey began with two years of Fine Art study, followed by refining his skills in print retouching and illustration in a London studio, which led to a career in design and art direction.

After losing his job during the Covid pandemic, Matt rediscovered painting as a therapeutic outlet, supporting both his mental health and livelihood.

As well as working on canvas Matt has been exploring painting on the reverse side of glass and wood panelling. This technique adds depth and dimensionality to his work, creating a captivating sense of reflection and intrigue that draws viewers in.

He has also explored conceptual installations, with Look inside my mind exhibited at Sculptures by the Sea.

In the last two years, Matt has been a finalist in 11 art shows.
