Weekends at Home | Lucy Juhnke

Lucy Juhnke is an emerging artist based in Port Macquarie.

Having a lifelong passion for art, Lucy elected to study visual arts and photography throughout high school. Her art process has since been developed through self-directed experimentation as well as various drawing classes and workshops.

In 2021, Lucy added new fuel to her passion through a productive period of abstract expressionism, leading to a focus on still life. She primarily paints with acrylic and oil pastels and often implements collage through found objects.

Lucy intuitively channels all of the senses into her painting and her creativity functions as meditation.

Each artwork is an interplay of precision and childlike bravado. Bright colours, drips, scribbles and splatters imbue a sense of emotion, movement and time. Areas of detail add context, stillness and focus.
