I am particularly inspired by the landscape and have discovered that spending time exploring and developing a personal connection to a place allows me to immerse myself fully in a body of work over a number of months.  My work involves reconstructing my lived experience of travel in various places as guided by my memory of the colours, textures and feelings I experienced whilst there.  One of my greatest passions is travelling and feel my creative process is fuelled by a similar sense of curiosity and adventure.  That being said, I also feel drawn to create abstract paintings based on a drive in the countryside, a philosophy or even a colour that has captivated me.

In two words I would describe my work as ‘constantly evolving’.  My creative process involves constant exploration and each year brings a new evolution of painting in which I follow different paths within subject matter and style.  Rather than pursuing a particular aesthetic within my painting, I allow inspiration and my experiences with the sources of inspiration to dictate the direction of the work. I am particularly drawn to abstraction and creating depth and story through mixed media.  What does remain quite consistent throughout my work is the use of texture, gestural brushstrokes and mark-making which are some of my favourite parts of the painting process.
