This piece is part of Tyger's opening exhibition, Bryter. Lani says: "Many of my paintings are re-worked numerous times before they reach their final stage. A colour or texture of a work will suddenly remind me of something one day that I hadn't previously thought of. The thick textures on the lower half of this work were, in a previous iteration, big cloudlike masses of tree canopies. In this latest iteration, those textures now speak to me of algae, slimy rocks, and water ripples."
