Ann loves colour and texture and the challenge to find new ways to include this in her work.
Ann has exhibited in many shows in galleries on the South Coast, and has participated in many group exhibitions around the Riverina, Hobart, Melbourne and Canberra.
Growing up in a country town surrounded by farmland and Anns’ world travels, have had a huge influence on her work.
Ann lives in Dolphin Point on the South Coast of NSW. Living by the coast has seen a shift in the colour palette of her work with a focus on seascapes.
Ann spends many hours walking the many trails around the area, but can’t wait to get back and take her inspiration and plein air sketches, back to the studio.
Her work involves collage hidden amongst layers of acrylic and mixed media. She loves colour, texture and loose line.
Ann likens her process to dancing with the paintbrush. When she’s in the zone the brush takes the lead.

“The huge spotted gum tree stands tall after devastating bushfires have ravaged the forest, now a symbol of survival and hope.”
“Despite the earlier destruction, the tree's vibrant colours emerge from its bark, which has healed and regenerated.”
“Its branches, once bare, are now adorned with new growth, a powerful reminder of nature's capacity to recover.”
“The surrounding landscape, scarred by the fires, begins to flourish once more, embodying the resilience and strength of the forest.”
“The tree stands as a living testament to enduring through adversity, a beacon of life in a landscape reborn.”
“I embrace a loose and abstracted approach to painting, allowing the colours and textures of the land to influence my response.”
“Collage serves as the foundation of my creative process, as I paint on location and then return to the studio to reconstruct .”
