Zoe is a budding artist whose creative passion was reignited on a five-month van journey across Australia with her son in 2023. During this time of pause and reflection in her life, she carried canvases and sketchbooks across the country, painting and drawing in forests, in the outback and on the coast, en plein air.

She nurtures a deep connection with nature and the land, which is reflected in her works, in both acrylic on canvas and watercolour. Zoe uses explorative colour palettes ranging from vibrant and joyful to more muted and serene, depending on the energy of the landscape and the moment. Through her art, Zoe hopes to evoke a connection to the beauty and spirit of the land and the natural world for the viewer.

“Freedom Beyond Fear, was created out of a visceral reaction I had to the vast mountain ranges and valleys stretching around me as I hung from a literal cliff edge in the NSW Blue Mountains. Having a debilitating fear of heights paired with a fascination for nature and particularly mountains, I recently undertook an abseiling and canyoning course to challenge this fear. Dangling on the rock face, suspended in the air by ropes and harness, I experienced that moment that we all instinctively know as primal aliveness and connection to all that is. For the viewer, I hope this piece captures the serene pause in time that occurs at the moment you choose to move beyond your fears, with shaking hands and a trembling heart. This work is a depiction of the strong inner resolve to exist beyond your personal cages of fear and limitation, and to live a life defined by expansiveness and freedom.”
