Geoffrey has been a finalist in the Elizabeth Bermingham Watercolour Prize, Adelaide Perry Drawing Prize and Michael Beaver Prize. He was one of 25 International artists chosen to be exhibited and published by Italian Collagists Collective in Omnia Vincit Amor.

We are absolutely thrilled to welcome his beautiful work to Tyger.

Ahead of the show opening, Geoffrey told us about why he works in series, responding subconsciously through colour, and how he hopes people feel when they see his beautiful work.

Where do you create your work?

"I create my work in my studio at Tuross Head, New South Wales."

How do you create your work?

"I create my work from long term observation, visiting and ingesting the essence of my chosen motif. I always work in series to exploit the maximum understanding and presentation of my formal response to the motif."

What inspires you?

"The need to create is vocational for me and I realised at an early age I would be an artist. I firstly respond subconsciously through colour and then I seek the structural lines and shapes which I feel draws the essence of my chosen motif."

How do you hope people feel when they see your work?

"I theoretically rely on Positive Creativity, or Positive Utilitarianism, and would like people to react in a positive and joyous way to my work. My work may not be immediately accessible because of the embodied strength, but upon reflection, I trust the essence of the work shines through."

Register for the opening celebration of Life in Colour on Saturday 16 November here.
