This painting is part of a series inspired by the artist's time on Tasmania's East Coast.
Jaqueline delves into abstraction, focusing on a close-up study of weathered, lichen-encrusted rocks. The predominantly green palette reflects the natural hues of the lichen, imbuing the piece with a sense of organic vitality.
Unearthing beauty in the seemingly unremarkable, this work reimagines itself as a celestial body, radiating light and energy from its textured surface.
Jaqueline Burgess, 2023.
